A biometric passport is issued to Algerian citizens permanently residing abroad after finalizing their consular registration.
Children under 12 are exempted from the requirement of attending the fingerprinting procedures in person and collecting the passport when it is ready. Therefore, please send all the necessary documents by mail.
Applicants aged 12 and above must be physically present at the Consulate General for the fingerprinting procedure, even without a prior appointment. However, it is recommended to submit the applications by mail before attending.
It is recommended to initiate the application process for passport renewal six months prior to the expiration date of your current passport.
Passports are issued in Algeria, and as part of the procedure, there is typically a delay of several weeks between submitting the passport application and receiving the passport. Applicants can track the status of their application by using the tracking number mentioned on the receipt. It is advisable to check the application status approximately one week after completing the fingerprinting, picture, and signature capture at the Ministry of the Interior of Algeria.

Passport form duly completed and signed by the legal tutor;

Two (2) recent passport photos 2×2 inches (51×51 mm) in size (white background, Neutral face no smile & clear forehead);
Original 12-S Birth Certificate (click here if you want to apply for);
A copy of proof of US residency (US passport, Green Card, US birth certificate or appropriate visa);
