• A biometric National Identity Card is issued to Algerian citizens permanently residing abroad after finalizing their consular registration.
• Any applicant, regardless of his age, can apply for a National ID Card online after obtaining his biometric passport.
• Children under 12 who wish to apply for a National ID Card at the Consulate General, are exempt from the fingerprinting procedure. Consequently, their presence at the filling of the application and the collection of the ID is not required.
• Applicants 12 and over who wish to apply for a National ID Card at the Consulate General, must be present for the fingerprinting procedure without a prior appointment. However, it is recommended to send the applications before attending.
