في إطار العناية الخاصة التي توليها الدولة الجزائرية لأفراد الجالية الوطنية المقيمة بالخارج، قام السيد كاتب الدولة لدى وزير الشؤون الخارجية، المكلف بالجالية الوطنية بالخارج، بزيارة عمل إلى القنصلية العامة الجزائرية بنيويورك، وذلك خلال الفترة الممتدة من 07 إلى 09 ماي 2026.
وقد شكلت هذه الزيارة فرصة لتعزيز جسور التواصل المباشر مع أفراد جاليتنا الوطنية المقيمة بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، والوقوف على انشغالاتهم وتطلعاتهم، لاسيما ما تعلق منها بسبل تحسين الخدمات القنصلية، وتعزيز ارتباط الجالية، خاصة فئتي الشباب والأطفال، بوطنهم الأم، والمحافظة على مقومات الهوية الوطنية. كما سمحت اللقاءات التي جمعته بممثلي الجالية ومختلف فعالياتها بالتشاور حول الآليات الكفيلة بتشجيع مساهمة كفاءاتنا الوطنية بالخارج في مسار التنمية الوطنية، والاستفادة من خبراتها العلمية والمهنية خدمة للجزائر.
وفي هذا الإطار، أشرف السيد كاتب الدولة على لقاء موسع مع أفراد الجالية الجزائرية بنيويورك، جرى في أجواء من الحوار البناء والتفاعل الإيجابي، حيث تم التطرق إلى مختلف القضايا ذات الصلة بأوضاع جاليتنا واهتماماتها، والاستماع إلى مقترحاتها الرامية إلى تعزيز روابطها بالوطن الأم، وتوطيد مساهمتها في مختلف مجالات التنمية الاقتصادية والثقافية والعلمية. كما جدد السيد كاتب الدولة التأكيد على التزام السلطات العمومية بمرافقة أفراد الجالية الوطنية بالخارج وتوفير كل الظروف الملائمة لتقوية صلتهم بالجزائر.
وتزامنت هذه الزيارة مع إحياء الذكرى المخلدة لمجازر الثامن من ماي 1945، حيث شارك السيد كاتب الدولة، رفقة أعضاء القنصلية العامة، في مراسم إحياء يوم الذاكرة، تخليدًا لأرواح شهدائنا الأبرار واستحضارًا للتضحيات الجسام التي قدمها الشعب الجزائري في سبيل الحرية والاستقلال. وقد تخللت هذه المناسبة الوطنية مراسم وضع باقة من الزهور، ورفع العلم الوطني، وقراءة فاتحة الكتاب ترحمًا على أرواح الشهداء، إلى جانب الوقوف دقيقة صمت إجلالًا لذكراهم الطاهرة.
كما ألقيت كلمة مقتضبة بالمناسبة، أُكد فيها أن مجازر الثامن من ماي 1945 تبقى شاهدًا على وحشية القمع الاستعماري الذي تعرض له الشعب الجزائري الأعزل، وعلى حجم التضحيات التي مهدت لاسترجاع السيادة الوطنية. وشُدد فيها على أهمية الحفاظ على الذاكرة الوطنية ونقلها إلى الأجيال الصاعدة، باعتبارها ركيزة أساسية لصون الهوية الوطنية وتعزيز قيم الوفاء لتضحيات الشهداء والمجاهدين.
واختتمت الزيارة بالتأكيد على مواصلة الجهود الرامية إلى تعزيز التواصل مع أفراد الجالية الوطنية بالخارج، والحرص على التكفل بانشغالاتهم، بما يعكس المكانة التي تحظى بها جاليتنا ضمن أولويات الدولة الجزائرية.
As part of the special attention devoted by the Algerian State to members of the national community living abroad, the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of the National Community Abroad, paid a working visit to the Algerian Consulate General in New York from May 7 to 9, 2026.
This visit provided an opportunity to strengthen direct communication with members of the Algerian community residing in the United States of America and to better understand their concerns and aspirations, particularly with regard to improving consular services, reinforcing the community’s ties—especially among youth and children—with their homeland, and preserving the foundations of national identity. The meetings held with representatives of the community and its various associations also allowed for consultations on mechanisms aimed at encouraging Algerian competencies abroad to contribute to the national development process and to place their scientific and professional expertise at the service of Algeria.
In this context, the Secretary of State chaired an extended meeting with members of the Algerian community in New York, which took place in an atmosphere of constructive dialogue and positive interaction. Discussions addressed various issues related to the conditions and interests of the community, while participants presented proposals intended to strengthen their ties with their homeland and enhance their contribution to economic, cultural, and scientific development. The Secretary of State also reiterated the commitment of the public authorities to supporting members of the national community abroad and to providing all appropriate conditions to reinforce their connection with Algeria.
The visit also coincided with the commemoration of the May 8, 1945 Massacres, during which the Secretary of State, accompanied by members of the Consulate General, took part in the observance of the National Day of Memory, in tribute to the souls of Algeria’s martyrs and in remembrance of the immense sacrifices made by the Algerian people in their struggle for freedom and independence. This national occasion included the laying of a wreath, the raising of the national flag, the recitation of Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs, as well as the observance of a minute of silence in honor of their sacred memory.
A brief address was also delivered on the occasion, emphasizing that the massacres of May 8, 1945 remain a stark testimony to the brutality of colonial repression inflicted upon the defenseless Algerian people and to the magnitude of the sacrifices that paved the way for the restoration of national sovereignty. The speech also stressed the importance of preserving and transmitting national memory to future generations, as a fundamental pillar for safeguarding national identity and promoting the values of loyalty to the sacrifices of the martyrs and freedom fighters.
The visit concluded with a renewed commitment to pursuing efforts aimed at strengthening communication with members of the national community abroad and ensuring that their concerns continue to be addressed, reflecting the importance attached by the Algerian State to its community overseas.
