Visa

  • The Consulate General processes visa applications from residents within its Consular jurisdiction;
  • No appointment is necessary for dropping off applications and collecting visas from Tuesday through Friday, during working hours 9:00 am & 3:00 pm;
  • The application form must be electronically filled out, clear, and accurate, with pictures pasted as indicated in the form. Applications that do not meet these requirements, including folded documents, will not be processed;
  • Processing time varies according to the type of visa and bilateral arrangements or agreements;
  • Applicants are urged to submit their applications within a period not exceeding sixty (60) days prior to their intended travel date;
  • Applicants holding passports from European Union countries are required to submit their application with the inclusion of travel insurance;
  • Travelers to Algeria on a cruise ship do not need a visa;
  • The Consulate General may request additional documents than those listed. Furthermore, submitting the required documentation does not guarantee the issuance of a visa;
  • Applicants can apply in person or by mail directly to the Consulate General of Algeria in New York 15 East 47th Street, New York, NY 10017.
