Consular Registration

All you need is your parent (legal tutor) registration, no consular card will be issued to you until you turn 19.

You cannot apply for a consular registration because you :

1. Have entered the united states temporarily for business (visa category B1), for tourism (visa category B2), or for a combination of both purposes (B1/B2);
2. Have a work permit not valid for re-entry;
3. Are considered undocumented immigrants.

FIRST TIME REGISTRATION

Required documents :

• Application form duly completed and signed;
• Original full-size birth certificate (E.C 12, Copie integrale) if born in Algeria, or a US Certificate of Birth or any birth certificate if born abroad;
• One parent’s birth certificate or certificate of Algerian nationality (Not applicable for US born whose parent(s) holds a consular card);
• If you were born overseas, provide a certificate of Algerian nationality or birth certificates of two (2) male ascendants born in Algeria (Not applicable if parent(s) holds a consular card);
• Copy of ;
• Copy of the photo page of your Algerian passport (if applicable);
• Copy of the US entry visa (if applicable); 
• Proof of employment, self-employment or school enrollment;
• Two (2) recent standard photos;
• Self-addressed stamped envelope;

REGISTRATION RENEWAL

Required documents :

• Application form duly completed and signed;
• Expired consular card (if available);
• Copy of ;
• Proof of employment, self-employment or school enrollment (if different from the first time registration);
• Two (2) recent standard photos;
• Self-addressed stamped envelope;
• (if different from the first time registration).

TRANSFER OF FILE

This procedure is carried out by the Consulate, and the registration at the Consulate in New York is granted as soon as the file is received from the previous Embassy/Consulate.
