ALGIERS- President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune honoured, on Sunday in Algiers, a group of Algerian women who have succeeded in managing their projects, despite the challenges they faced.
At a ceremony held on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Algerian women throughout the country were honoured for having been able to meet the challenges, while succeeding brilliantly in managing their projects with limited means relying mainly on the micro-credits granted by the State.
The women distinguished at this ceremony organized under the slogan “The Algerian woman: work and innovation,” have made many achievements in several areas including craft industry, beekeeping, sheep farming and olive pressing in addition to other modern areas such as the installation and maintenance of solar panels.
Moreover, President Tebboune paid a visit to a crafts exhibition organized on the sidelines of the Women’s International Day, where he inquired about some projects carried out by women, reflecting the Algerian identity and traditions of Algerians throughout the national territory.
In this respect, President Tebboune announced the establishment of the National Prize for Innovative Women, in all areas, to encourage Algerian women and enhance their innovations.
For her part, Minister of National Solidarity, the Family and Women Affairs, Kaoutar Krikou, said that Algerian women “occupy a prominent place in President Tebboune’s institutional project.
