The Permanent Mission of Algeria to the United Nations and the Consulate General of Algeria in New York organized the celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Independence of Algeria.
This celebratory gathering was attended by His Excellency the Ambassador M. Mohamed Nadir LARBAOUI, Permanent Representative of Algeria to the United Nations, Consul General of Algeria in New York, M. Brahim CHENNOUF, both Permanent Mission and Consulate General staff and members of Algerian community.
To mark this historical event, the guest of honor, Mrs. Elaine MOKHETFI was distinguished for her continuous commitment to the Algerian cause. Furthermore, a painting competition for members of the community was held, on this occasion, where three top winners were announced and all participants were prized (See paintings on the photos gallery below).
This commemoration saw the participation of the Algerian Community choir as well as the Algerian singer M. Yacine BOUDJOU and a group of musicians whom performance was enjoyed and liked by the attendees.
